Fear Less

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you;

    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Isn’t it helpful to see these two verses back to back like that!? I’ve never looked at them before in that way. I know they are in the Bible somewhere, but I’ve never flipped back and forth from one to the other until now.

There’s quite a few pages between these two books. Which means God hasn’t changed. Our hearts may change, but God doesn’t.

It’s also encouraging to know that Joshua, who had been around for plenty of the miracles Moses performed in the desert and even participated in some of the miracles, also needed to be encouraged again. We can’t help it. We just need encouragement.

Have you ever met someone who said “You know what, I’m good on encouragement today. I’ve had enough.” Doubtful right? Let’s face it, we need it. Even if you have seen the miracles of God before, sometimes you just need to know that God is still there. The last thing I want is to go into any battle or challenge without God on my side.

Be strong today. Be courageous. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged. God is with you. He will strengthen you. He will help you. He will uphold you. He will be with you wherever you go.

God is with you today. I pray this encourages you and lifts you up. Whatever challenges and fears you may be facing. Be encouraged and know that God is bigger and He is with you.

I pray you wake up and face the day fearlessly. I needed this word of encouragement today. I pray it encourages you as well.

Bless you.
